Particularly attached to discerning and capturing what escapes the senses, throughout the course of various artistic residencies I have been to places that enable me to escape from everyday reality: the mystical mountain range of Montserrat in Catalonia or a monastery on a Norwegian island. Combining self-portraits, portraits, still life and landscape views, I have sought to create a world apart, bringing out the sacred in everyday life as so many expressions of wonderment. Such places are especially conducive to deep and undivided introspection. In Montserrat, a rising force seems to come from the mountain, and this was to inspire the title of this series.

Particulièrement attachée à discerner et capter ce qui échappe aux sens, je me suis rendue au fil de résidences, dans des lieux qui me permettent de m’extraire du réel : le massif montagneux mystique de Montserrat en Catalogne ou encore un monastère dans une île en Norvège. En mêlant autoportraits, portraits et paysages, je m’attache à faire naître un monde à part, à faire ressortir le sacré dans la vie de tous les jours comme autant de manifestations du merveilleux. Une expérience immersive et introspective s’impose à moi dans ces lieux. À Montserrat, une force naissante semble provenir de la montagne, elle inspirera le nom de cette série.
